Centre for the Study of New Literacies

A good day. The Centre for the Study of New Literacies has now officially opened. To mark the occasion (and the release of Guy Merchant’s and Julia Davies’s new book – Web 2.0 for Schools) we gathered together at Sheffield University to listen to some interesting papers from Dr Kate Pahl, Dr Julia Davis, Professor Anne Haas Dyson and Angela Thomas. Education Studies

I was recently invited to talk with students at Sheffield Hallam and Plymouth University. I thouroughly enjoyed the experience. It was really inspiring to discover more about the courses and discussions the students are participating in.  After the seminar at Sheffield two of the students contacted me to ask if I’d published any articles yet. Although I’m working on a couple of articles at the moment, these students have spurred me on to post some of my thoughts and ideas online. (Hopefully the published work will follow soon!) I hope it becomes a useful resource for those interested in finding out more about Alternate Reality Gaming in Education and thank you to those students who showed such an active interest in this area. It was great to meet you.
